So yesterday we were invited to have lunch with a family.  The mom had worked at Eagle's Nest prior to having a baby girl.  The photos shows some of the trail we walked to get to her home.  I remind you it is a trail that at times is very narrow and I had to watch my footing not to fall several times.   She is the sister of the young man that is now the Pastor here at Eagle's Nest.  Just the walk to the home was humbling.   It is a trail that at times is very narrow and I had to watch my footing not to fall several times.  When we  arrived we were led into a small room that had a long table that had been set up for us to have lunch.

.
The room had obviously been emptied of the bedroom furniture, which was stacked outside the home, to accomodate our large group.
Notice the mattress and bed frame
stacked against the wall in the back of the photo.  The thought kept crossing my mind of how often I haven't invited someone over because my house wasn't clean enough or nice enough to have guests.  And how often that is used as an excuse not to serve someone that may be in need of a meal and fellowship.  Shame on me.  The husband served us the meal after prayers and thank you's were exchanged by Larry, Pedro, Felis, Claire and our hosts.  The meal was delicious - rice, beef, and homemade tortillas.
The baby girl doesn't have a name yet, Guatemalans have a month to name their child.  They have two other children, boys, one of which has small mass located near the collarbone area that keeps getting bigger.  The family doesn't have the funds needed for the surgery but Larry and Claire (Eagle's Nest) hopes to assist in making sure Wilson can get the surgery he needs.

They do so much to help those in the surrounding community along with all the responsiblities of running a Children's Home, a school, a church, the "manna" feeding program, retreats and camps as well as the continued growth of 17 churches they have helped start over the past 30 years.  Just a side note to those of you that are looking for a ministry to support monthly or on special projects I would encourage you to consider Eagle's Nest.

So much more to share, but am going to enjoy the warm beautiful weather outside for now.  Thank you for your support and prayers while I am here.
